On the eve of the national
election, here’s a tip to allow you to vote – not for the Candidates – but for
various decision-making using email.
Using Microsoft Outlook, you can track the responses of many recipients by
simply creating a tracking option to vote.
Let’s say you send a message to
eight people on a committee requesting them to decide which date to hold a
meeting. All eight people may respond
with a message. Rather than receive
eight individual messages with various text, the sender will receive the votes
of each person. Each person can click
on A, B, or C.
To create this Voting feature, the sender does the following:
1. Create the
Message
2. Click
Options
3. Select the
use voting buttons check box (middle of the dialog box)
4. Type the
voting button names you want to use in the box.
The default voting options are:
·
Approve; Reject
·
Yes; No
·
Yes; No; Maybe
You can even create your own voting
button names:
For
example: Small, Medium, Large, Tues, Wed, Thurs, or Obama
or Romney
To create your own voting button
names delete the default button names, and then type any text you want.
Separate the text with semicolons.
5. Click Close
6. Click Send
