My old neighborhood...

Years ago (long before my training and development career) I lived and worked in real estate in Boston's South End. The spiral staircase photo gallery got me thinking about the wonderful SS Pierce building in the South End.  SS Pierce owned a home on 5 Union Park.  The beautiful staircase was a focal point to the entrance.  Back in the 1980's the home was divided into condominiums.

There's a wonderful blog on the South End.  http://blog.magrealstate.com/boston-property/street-tour-union-park-south-end-boston/

5 Union Park - Samuel Stillman Pierce of S.S. Pierce & Co. The grocery magnante got his start by bartering with ship capitains in Boston Harbor, exchanging provisions for delicacies from foreign ports. His business thrived in part because of celebrity clients Daniel Webster, John Quincy Adams, and Oliver Wendall Homes, Sr. The house last sold in 2005 for $2.1 million.
